Western Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory are not in the list yet, because their rules have not been checked against the regulator's own pages.
Requirements read from each regulator's own site, most recently checked 12 July 2026. Rules change, so confirm with your regulator before relying on them.
When a builder sets the price
If a builder or another business sets the amount for your part of a job, you can check it against your costs before you accept the work. figrd then reports profit and payment speed by who paid, so you can see which builders are worth saying yes to.
